ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CC
This test assesses the skill level and aptitude of an Adobe Illustrator user in the areas of color management, document setup, actions, drawing tools, type tools, selection tools, and effects. It also assesses the ability to transform and manipulate text and objects. It covers knowledge of the application through Illustrator CC (Adobe Creative Cloud), which includes knowledge of Illustrator CS6. The Secure Evaluation Mode and Remote versions of this test will contain a minimum of 36 questions and will require a typical time of 43 minutes. The Secure Interview Mode and QwikChek versions will provide as many questions as the test taker can answer within an approximate 26 minute time limit.
Following is a description of each sub-topic on the test:
Illustrator Document Setup and File Management evaluates understanding of creating a new document, bleeds, printing, file saving, exporting for screens, and exporting assets in Illustrator CC.
Creating Symbols and Patterns assesses understanding of symbols, patterns, symbol tools, the Symbols panel and pattern options in Illustrator CC.
Creating and Formatting Type measures understanding of type tools, text boxes, the OpenType panel, the Paragraph panel, and the Appearance panel in Illustrator CC.
Using Layers and Artboards assesses knowledge of the Artboard tool, arrange commands, moving layers, selecting items within layers, and the grouping and stacking of layers in Illustrator CC.
Using Selection Tools evaluates understanding of selection tools, the selection menu, and adding or removing part of a selection in Illustrator CC.
Using Drawing Tools measures understanding of illustration tools, such as the Pen, Pencil, and Shape in Adobe Illustrator CC.
Working with Colors and Swatches assesses knowledge of the Swatches panel, the Color panel, spot color and process colors in Illustrator CC.
Using Fills and Strokes evaluates aptitude of the Stroke panel, the Width tool, gradients, and blend modes in Illustrator CC.
Creating Custom Paths measures knowledge on the Shape Builder tool, the Pathfinder panel, rounding corners, and the Blend tool in Illustrator CC.
Utilizing Effects evaluates understanding of distort and transform commands, stylize options and the Appearance panel in Illustrator CC.
Transforming Objects measures proficiency of the reshaping tools, clipping masks, the Align panel and the Transform panel in Illustrator CC.
Illustrator User Customizations assesses aptitude of creating keyboard shortcuts, actions, custom guides, and user preferences in Illustrator CC.
